This past weekend in Tampa was one of the best weekends of my life.
I had the chance to compete at the Eurobasket Summer League Showcase, and it was everything I could’ve imagined and more. The atmosphere, the talent, the competition — all of it was next level. I got to play the best basketball I’ve ever played in my life… and ended up ranked #1 out of 97 players. Truly surreal.
On top of that, I was blessed to attend the National Championship game between UConn and South Carolina. Being there in the building for such a historic matchup was something I’ll never forget.
The weekend was about more than just basketball, too. I met my agent from Greece for the first time, which was a huge step in this journey. I also got the chance to meet new friends and reconnect with old ones, all while sharing the court and experiences that we’ll remember forever.
What stood out most was how the showcase simulated what life will be like next year as a rookie pro. We got the full experience — from FIBA basketballs, slippery floors, and tough coaching, to bad refs and gritty situations. It was raw, real, and exactly what I needed. They treated us like pros because that’s where we’re headed.
I also got to play a new style of basketball, learning and adapting in real time. That challenge pushed me in ways I didn’t expect — and I’m better for it.
Grateful for every second. This weekend reminded me that the dream is real — and it’s getting closer.
